This year, Strategex takes on social responsibility in a new way: a charity competition.

Social impact, the Strategex way.

Strategex is excited to announce its work to raise funds for four charities: The Hephzibah Children's Association, Cal's Angels, Feed My Starving Children, and The Wounded Warriors Project. Strategex team members organized four teams with the mission to raise the most for their team's charity. The team that "wins" will earn an extra $5,000 for their charity. But all the charities win: Strategex will match employee donations.

As Strategex grows, we want to give back proportionately to the community. We thought we'd up the ante by introducing some friendly competition. It's a win-win: The four charities will receive funds and volunteers, and our team will collaborate in new ways. So far, this program has added meaningful teambuilding, boosted morale, and helped our remote-mostly workforce foster relationships.

"10/10 - would recommend a charity contest!" - Everyone

The Charities and Our Work:

The Hephzibah Children's Organization

Hephzibah's mission is to help children thrive and families flourish through innovative community-based programs. Hepzibah provides numerous services to local children, many of whom are abused or neglected. They enhance the lives of children & families through the Hephzibah Home residence, family support, foster care, and affordable daycare programs.

Through our work, Strategex hopes to make a difference in the lives of children who have dealt with trauma. Strategex teamed up with The Chicago Dogs for a family-friendly event that benefits The Hephzibah Children's Association. Strategex and our families had a wonderful time at the Chicago Dogs game at Impact Field on Sunday, August 7th. It was a fun event with fun people for a good cause: a win-win-win. The game featured a silent auction, pre-game catch with the team, and a 50/50 raffle – it was so much fun!

Wounded Warriors Project

Since 2003, Wounded Warrior Project has been meeting the growing needs of warriors, their families, and caregivers — helping them achieve their highest ambition. They provide a variety of veteran programs and services to help veterans take the steps toward building the future they deserve.

Strategex wants to give back to the men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom. Veterans are near and dear to our hearts as multiple employees, including our founder Peter Philippi, have served in the military. Stay tuned! Strategex is planning a Veterans Day fundraising event to help make an impact in the lives of injured veterans.

Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food. They are "dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit." FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development. FMSC provides meals to allow children to grow, thrive and develop to their full potential.

Strategex is committed to supporting FMSC’s mission through active fundraising and events in which Strategex employees and their families pack meals for children around the world. At the first FMSC MobilePack event in May, Strategex packed 17,280 meals which will feed 47 children for one year. Additionally, Strategex has raised $6,426 (as of May 27th) with a goal of $10,000.

Cal's Angels

Cal's Angels' mission is to grant wishes, raise awareness, and fund research to help kids fighting cancer. This charity provides great support not only for kids going through cancer but also for the entire family. They help pioneer research and medicine specialized for children. They hope to reduce the disparity in research funding between pediatric cancer versus adult cancer; currently, only 4% goes to pediatric research.

Strategex is planning an in-person event in September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Cal’s Angels will attend to articulate the organization’s mission, provide information on pediatric cancer, and explain how our donations will be operationalized for positive change.
