Our Private Equity Solutions practice focuses exclusively on helping financial buyers and their portfolio companies make more informed investment decisions, mitigate transaction risk, accelerate organic and inorganic growth, expand EBITDA margins, and maximize exit values and timelines.
We do this by integrating market, commercial, and customer insights with our 80/20 value creation framework, which eliminates complexity so that management teams have time and resources to focus on profitable market share growth.
Our specific offerings include market assessments, commercial and customer due diligence, voice of the customer, target identification, competitive intelligence, price optimization, and other custom market research solutions.
Who are you?
- You can quantifiably demonstrate an ability to generate new business revenue from lower-middle and middle-market private equity funds as a direct result of your efforts.
- You have at least five years of progressive work experience in a business development role at a professional services organization. A management consulting, investment banking, or other private equity service provider background is required.
- You find an industry-leading variable compensation package to be highly motivating.
- You have mastered the art and science of establishing and nurturing client relationships, but you do it in a way that positions you as a value-add partner, not just a transactional supplier.
- You heavily invest in building personal relationships with your clients, but you know you are accountable for ultimately generating business from these relationships, and you’re not timid about doing so.
- You can get into rooms nobody else can. You love networking. You can talk to anyone about anything.
- You realize the sales cycle can be long, but you don’t take no for an answer. Rejection motivates you even more. You are persistent.
- You want the thrill of working in a startup environment but with the stability of an established firm behind you.
- You already have a network of relationships with decision-makers at private equity firms.
- You can travel up to 40% of the time. In the meantime, you have the discipline to be just as productive working from home as you are in the office.
- You have a BBA, and you either have an MBA or can see yourself getting one in the future.
What will you do?
- You will be accountable for originating revenue from new logos. The expectation is that you will originate at least $1M in revenue from new logos in your first year.
- Collaborate with our marketing and sales support teams to develop, implement, and track the effectiveness of account-based marketing strategies, campaigns, and tactics.
- You will exclusively focus on what you love to do: establishing relationships, nurturing them, and generating opportunities. Select marketing-generated leads may be provided, but you will largely be expected to originate and generate opportunities (not convert them).
- You will not try to do it all by yourself. While you love the hunt, you’re also a team player and have no problem bringing in other experts when the time is right to help you close.
- You will develop a list of target accounts that meet our ideal customer profile and rely heavily on an account-based marketing and sales approach to winning new business.
- You will take a “land and expand” approach to your target accounts and work with engagement managers to maximize wallet share with the logos you originate.
- You will maintain your contacts and leads in a CRM.

How will you be compensated?
The base salary range for the Director of Business Development role is $125-$150K, but there is no limit on how much commission you can earn. Based on sales goals for this role, your total take-home pay in year one can reasonably exceed $275,000 and $600,000 by year three.
